Still overly optimistic, but the Strait of Belle Isle seems to be slightly faster.

Submitted by Ralph Villiger on Thu, 11/07/2013 - 13:43An overly optimistic routing tells me that I will arrive on July 24. July 30 is more realistic, but I might take the St. Laurent Gulf route. Will decide later. This morning thunderstorm. Now breakfast and last emails, then fuel berth and start to the second leg of NorthAtlanticFace.

Submitted by Ralph Villiger on Wed, 10/07/2013 - 22:34Bilge pumps work again, satphone works again, computer works again. One of these suspicious days when everything fits. Harbour paid, customs done. Tomorrow morning to the fuel dock and off we go to Greenland. The wind will be weak in the beginning, but I am not in a race anymore.

Submitted by Ralph Villiger on Sun, 07/07/2013 - 18:24Today Spirit with Richard and Douwe left Newport. They sail back Jac Sandberg's boat, Richard is actually the co-owner. Spirit is little boat to cross the Atlantic, especially upwind. We also refer to it as a mini on steroids. You can follow them on gogospirit.com. I had two entertaining evenings with them and Alex Burgis from the race committee, who sails back Charles Emmett's British Beagle.
